Privacy notice.

Horton Group of Companies (“Horton”, “we”) operates this website. This notice explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written to be read, not to be impenetrable.

What we collect

• Enquiries. If you use our contact form we receive the name, email, phone number and message you type. Nothing more.
• Document verification. If you check a document on our verification page, we process the reference or passport number you enter in order to look it up. We keep a short-lived count of lookups per network address purely to stop the page being trawled automatically.
• Server logs. Our web server records the usual technical information — network address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps — for security and diagnostics.

We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.

Why we use it

• To answer your enquiry and, if it becomes a project, to carry out the work.
• To confirm whether a document issued in our name is genuine.
• To keep the site secure and working.
• To meet legal, tax and health-and-safety record-keeping obligations.

What the verification page discloses

A successful verification returns only the fields needed to establish that the document is genuine — the name it was issued to, the position, country of origin, and the relevant dates. It does not disclose salary, contact details, or anything else from an employee's record. A document that was never issued will not return a result.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are retained while they are live and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back to us. Employment and project records are kept for as long as Ontario and federal law requires. Rate-limit counters expire within minutes.

Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, and ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Write to info@hortongroupofcompanies.ca and we will respond within thirty days.

Third parties

The contact page embeds a Google map, and our pages load fonts from Google's font service. Those requests are subject to Google's own privacy terms. We do not pass them any information about you beyond what your browser sends in making the request.
